Remington sendero & varmint contour question

Can anyone tell me if their is a difference between a Remington Sendero barrel and a Remington varmint barrel. If so could you tell me the difference in the contour measurements for the varmint models of those 2 barrels.

thank you,
Dan

I am 99% sure that the Sendaro and the various rem varment rifles all use a Rem Varment taper bbl.

Like I said....99%. I have had a few guns re-bbld to a rem varment contour using tubes from different mfgrs....they are all the same coutour.

I believe they finish at .830 at the muzzle..... I just ordered a Krieger sendero contour 28" and wanted it to match my original stock contour...... its perfect and finished at that measurement

I've ordered a slew of barrels from Bartlein, Krieger, & PacNor over the past 7yrs, and a goodly percentage of them were specified to be Rem varmint or sendero contour. All three of these barrel makers agree that there's no difference.

All 700 Remington heavy varmint barrels are 1.250 at the chamber, and .820 at the muzzle. The word Sendero only applies to a Long action, it can be a varmint or a sporter barrel. I believe this term originated when Remington first started putting their hardware in HS Precision stocks. Larry in western Ky.

I got that info many yrs ago from a Remington customer support person. I referred to a SA as a Sedero, and he was quick to set me straight that the word Sendero at Remington meant LA.
I just cked my dealer catalog and the only rifles under the Sendero banner are all LA. If I'm wrong, I stand corrected. Larry

Because it was before they came out with the SAUM's.

Because they discontinued their very own SAUM's and don't offer them in the WSM series.

I had a Sendero in 7mm SAUM and the barrel was so marked.

BTW, Remington barrels never measure 1.250 at the shank, most around 1.200"
