the 40 x barrel contour that is used by Remington on their 40 x rifles in the palma style is of interest.can any one tell me what barrel contour in a custom barrel from say Krieger would match it?

I think Remington makes a 40x and 40xb. The 40x is a varmint/sendero contour I believe at .830 at 26". The 40xb I believe is 27+ long and is equal to the heavy Palma barrel contour.
