Remington model seven trigger

I got a model seven , will the 700 triggers fit? Or does it need to be model seven specific
All the top companies make a trigger for the 700, who is making bench quality triggers for the model seven
Thanks

Triggertech makes a model seven trigger, you can also modify a 700 to utilize the M7 bolt release with a bit of milling on the side plate…on the Triggertech anyway, I did do one before they started offering them

My son has a Model 7 and He put a standard Timney 700 trigger on it.

I was always under the impression that the model 7, 700 long, 700 short, 600, 660, 40x 721, 722 and do on so could use the basic model 700 trigger.

On the 600/660's the mounting holes, frame width etc are the same but the trigger shoe is more forward,
like a good 1/2 inch.
a 700 trigger will mount but wouldn't clear the trigger guard hole.I believe all the other actions are interchangeable though.
---------------
I've used a 700 frame and installed a 660 trigger shoe to make for a better 660 trigger since the adjustment screws have finer threads in the 700

Try a Jard
Or get on Ebay and find a Timney 501T, that was a legit nice light trigger, I have a couple of those.
Not a 2 ouncer but a very nice 8-12 oz with a nice adjustable trigger bar.
Since the trigger bar is adjustable you can even turn it around 180 deg and fit it in a Rem 600

Timney used to make some nice triggers, but I agree with you, they changed for some reason and their new designs are lacking in various ways.
They need to bring back things like the 500 and 501 T

Here's a 501T that I'm speaking of on Ebay now
Def a good trigger, an old 3 lever design, I have a couple of these or I'd buy it so Im just sharing the info
They go for a good price now since they stopped making them but for the $125 opening bid up to $200
is def worth it.
I think the lightest I have gotten mine to go is 8 oz but they're great for practice rifles
I love the adjustable straight knurled bar since it allows a nice purchase grip for you to push your finger forward to keep from ooopsing the trigger break.
I mainly got these because turning the bar around will then allow it fit a Rem 600/660 which are hard to find a nice trigger for.

I would look for a used JEWEL before I would buy a TIMINEY, especially at that price. I have both for the MODEL 7 and there is no comparison.

Well a good tuned Rem 700 is about $125 to $150
That Timney is better at a $125 price
Not going to find a Jewell for $125 right?
I see most Jewell's hovering around $300 now, IF you can find one. They are getting more and more scarce.
But yes a Jewell is definitely better but not all guns need a Jewell.
Just like not all guns NEED a 2 oz trigger when an 8 ounce will do.
I cant put $300-$500 triggers in every gun I have so some of them get the economy
$175 Shilen 2 ouncer or a nice Jard 4 oz. Set Trigger for $200 right?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many people and myself included, do very well with just a finely tuned, crisp, break like glass, no take up, Remington factory trigger , ya know? I shoot .2' with my tuned Remmy's
One customer of mine that recently bought one of my tuned Remmy 700 triggers
Shot the smallest group ever in his 40x comp rifle, since it was that much better than his original 40x trigger.
So asserting to use a Jewell when it means $300 is kind of elitist in my opinion, (No Offense meant here)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know some people won't settle for anything but a Cadillac, or a Rolex
Well not everyone is that rich
My main point with that Timney I showed, is it's one of the Oldies but Goodies that can't be had any longer, at a decent affordable price, compared to their newer offering these days.

That TIMENY wasn't $125.... it's $250 to buy it now, defiantly not worth it IMO. As far as a tuned Rem trigger I would never pay $125-$150 for one . I would pay 250-300 for a Jewel before I would buy either of the triggers mentioned above. I would also buy one of the Big &Andy Dakota or tac sport before I would buy one of the above. If I had to I would use a Jewel or Bix 700 model and just forgo the bolt release on the model 7, or have a side bolt release installed before buying a Timney or paying for a tuned Remington. Just my opinion though derived from having 3 Model 7's and all ready going through this. I would go a Shilen at $175 before buying any Timney. Triggertech offers 2 triggers for the Model 7 starting at $180 and $220.
