Remington BBl threading for suppressor

I have a Remington 700 in .243 and want to get the barrel threaded 5/8" x 24 for a suppressor. What is a good method for this? Use a die or use a tool?

You need to send that to a gunsmith. It needs to be set up like a chamber job or youll get a baffle strike. There is no at home way to do it right.

I just did some research and found Threading Central and Long Rifles Inc.. Both are about $100..plus shipping..
I bought PTG centering gauge and I was going to get my buddy to do it on his lath.. But I'm thinking someone who does this day in and day out would be better.

^^^Like he said do it right if it's a sporter contour that's .660 muzzle I would thread it 1/2 x28 tpi you don't have much of a shoulder if it's a sporter Remington contour.
If it's a Remington varmint you can Do the 5/8 x 24 with more shoulder contact.

The guy from Threading Central called me back and I just ordered a shipping box $39.99. So, when it get's here I'll ship the bbl up to SD and get 'er threaded 5/8 x 24...thank you..

do a 1/2-28 on a skinny barrel and buy a thread adapter from brownells. you can get a 1/2-28 on the inside and 5/8-24 on the outside to fit your suppressor.
you need some kind of shoulder to make sure the suppressor is on straight.

OD of bbl is .820" so she will do a 5/8" x 24.. which is what the flash hider adapter is... looking so forward not to have to put on / carry ear protection to deer stand..

And you can lean it up on the ladder and grab it from the stand. I felt like a monkey with a football friend switching windows with one the time i used one

What dusty said is correct. Depending on the barrel diameter at the length you want it threaded you may have to go smaller than 5/8”.
