Credibility is difficult at best to regain once lost.

It wasn't "Remington", it was the corporate raiders that bought and sold them like sacks of salt.

I was under the impression RAR actions were made under the " new" Remington.

Could be, I thought those were the old ones and the leftovers. I believe I saw some surplus actions with that prefix.

In all my years in industry I've never seen a buy out, take over or merger that ended well for the firm being bought out.

Now that said, Remington’s heyday (IMO) was during Dupont’s ownership. But that was an extremely rare case of a symbiotic business model.

Further to my previous post.... I bought a 40x yesterday, Single shot. Stock is nice, action is OK, barrel has been replaced by an Aussie Black Mountain a long time ago. It's currently in 308 - I'm undecided what it will end up with - maybe 6BR? I know that it was offered in 6mm International. That could be a go if I can find a reamer - without buying a new one, that is!
