Remington alpha 1 308

I got an email from big green the other day. It was a short propaganda video about the "new" Remington featuring Joe Blow who had 4 years at the old Rem, Joe Blow II had 12, etc., etc., & they want to make Remington just like it used to be. What struck me as funny was that Remington hasn't built anything worth a damn, at least that I've seen, for over 20 years.

The only way Rem. could have gotten my email address is from the short unproductive correspondence we had about the last junk of theirs, built in 2016, that I bought right before they went tits up 2 or 3 years ago. That would put the Joe Blows in the factory "building 'em the way they used to" when mine was built. Not impressed, dont care, good luck. I may get this one fixed up on my own dime, but certainly wont buy another.

This is my issue that I'm trying to get thru to Remington on the good note I just opened an email from timney they sent me a pre paid postal barcode and they want the trigger back that came with the alpha 1 and they are gonna replace it with the real deal and a little side note sorry for the miss understanding from Remington this so screwy talk about not thinking things through

That’s great from Timney wanting to be stand up about it.
Can you explain the little side note from Timney and the Remington misunderstanding, that was hard to follow.

As I see it, a big piece of the price of that rifle is the stock, did big green deliver a great stock?

I’m super interested in what ground both Remington and Timmney try to stand on with the trigger “rename”.

Seems I recall one of the big beer brands saying “Brewed with pure Rocky Mountain spring water”. Then building a plant 1000 miles away from the Rockies……. But renaming the “creek” so their advertising fit.

Honestly, is it gone?

I still get to decide where I spend my money, and I’ll be following this thread.

I recently build a classic walnut stock 700 30-06 in memory of my father.
Found a beautiful 1981 bdl stock for $250. Ordered a new 700 SPS $560 for the barreled action. Bedded the stock with MarineTex.

I fully expected to change triggers and rebarrel immediately like all my other factory rifles. But to my surprise this cheap rifle came with 5r rifled barrel and a the Timney trigger.

My second time out, with minimal load development produced great groups with 168 Classes Hunter and Reloder 16.

200 yards from a hunting bag no rear bag
