remington 9 1/2 primers

I cant find as everyone else the federal 210 and 215 match primers. I bought 500 of the Remington 9 1'2 magnums to break in and work up loads in my new 280 AI.

Is this a mistake using these primers?

Mistake??? How so??? If it's a "mistake using these primers", it's a mistake I have been making for a while now.

I found the 9 1/2Ms to be the best primer for h4831sc in 6.5x284. This was a long time ago, but they would be my starting point if I were to switch back from H4350.

When I tested primers Rem 9 1/2 and CCI-BR2s were at the top of the heap.

Accuracy was very comparable between the two. BR2s posted smaller ES/SD.

I finally settled on BR2s since it makes me feel better.

I have read that the remingtons aren't giving very good ext spreads and SD's. And aren't very reliable. I have never used them but thought I would give them a try with RL 26 in my 280AI.

I guess its a toss up and ill have to see how it works.

Remington 9 1/2m's have served me well in the 300 winnie. Some of my most accurate loads were with this primer. It's my go to now with magnum rounds.

Since its been reported that Remington will no longer be selling reloading components, does that include primers to? If so mabie the OP would not want to invest in working up loads with primers he won't be able to get in the future.

I've been using the 9 1/2m in most of my guns for a time now. I've never had a round not fire, and have had excellent accuracy in most loads to boot. While I would try the feds if given a chance, I've never seen them so I won't change from the rems
