remington 788's and 600/660's

I have a question; and correct me if I am wrong. I was under the impression that remmy made quite a few 600/660/mohawks in 223 caliber, but the 788's, since they were stopped in 1983, only made about 700 in 223 cal, and if you have one of these, in good origional shape, they can be quite valuable, in the 1000's of dollars even. Do I have this backwards, or is this not true for either model? thanks.

You've got it backwards, a 600/660 in 223 will bring north of 1000.00, plenty of 788 223's out there. I used to collect both and the hard to get calibers in the 788 were the 30-30 and 44mag. At one time I had all the calibers of the 600/660's except the 223, I just couldn't make myself pony up a grand for one, and that was 6-7 years ago, no telling what a mint 223 600 would go for now.

yikes, just saw a minty 600 in 223, 6500.00 is the bid right now!
So I guess that means the 788's are still reasonable.

well even if it was worth 1000.00 i still wouldnt part with my 788 in .223.tack driver and feels awesome in your hands.
