Remington 700 trigger question

Will the current manufacture Remington Mark X trigger fit an earlier model 700? I have an earlier 700 with a 2oz trigger with no safety and would like to replace the 2oz with a trigger with a safety

And if you want to improve that x mark for hunting puposes, I highley recomend a ernie the gunsmith xmark trigger spring improvement. They are on ebay . I am in no way affiliated but in my opinion the old rem trigger was smoother than a xmark. The ernie trigger spring can get them close!
