Remington 700 action

I was recently eyeballing a Remington 700 action with trigger and 223 boltface on GrabAGun for $267. I thought this was a low enough price to buy as a Remage rifle, since I already have a 700 stock. However, they have recently changed suppliers and the price has jumped $80. Anyone know a good cheap supplier of these actions?

I have had good luck with Bud's guns. I admit that I lean toward Bud's because they don't make excuses not to sell to California.

I just received 2 actions from Buds this week and both were very nice fit and finish--much nicer than you will get in a 700 from a walmart.

Buy a whole gun on sale. Ive seen them for $380 Sell the barrel for $45 and your at $335. Unfired barrels are worth more, you say shot 10 times they wonder how bad it was for you to give up so quick.
I kid you not I watched a 223 complete bolt assy go on ebay for $255 and they were in stock and on sale at ptg for $150 at that same time.

That will probably be my route. The warehouse can send them right to their shooting range and I can drive down and pick it up. I'll keep my eyes open on here for a few weeks, something interesting might pop up in the meantime

Is it the clouded/tainted/un-filtered water out of the Colorado River that puts this BS to words?

I wasn't aware that Remington or any other manufacturer for that matter, had a preference to which distributor they shipped to.

Some manufacturers re-design provisions into their firearms to be shipped to specific communist/tree hugger/fruit&nuts states that have magazine restrictions, loaded chamber indicators etc, etc.

Jerry,
I'd tell you exactly what's on my mind....but...

Your PUSSY would hurt!
You will cry!
And you'll be pestering the Forum Boss ......again!

Jerry,
You're the ONE making ridiculous uneducated statements to who/what/when/where any Remington action/rifle is shipped.

To give you a CLUE-
Remington Chrome Moly Actions/rifles currently have 3 finish options-
Polished Blue-BDL,VLS etc.
Satin Blue-glass bead hot blued-CDL etc.
Matte Blue-sand blast hot blued-SPS

Dan,
I've got a Ben Franklin that says I've bought, chambered, and tuned more Remington 700 actions in the past 12 months than you have. On Friday and Saturday nights you show up here thinking you're the god of gun knowledge. It's becoming a pattern.

Those bought "action only" seem to me to be a better fit and finish than those bought on sale and parted out. I've seen a lot of each.

Thanks for trying to educate me with irrelevant information.

Just in case I haven't made my self clear, you are officially requested to quit cyber stalking me on this forum.

Jerry,
I''d see you & raise you 10 fold on that "C" Note/Dead Ben/$100 bill any day/week/month/year for the last 25 years.

Mr Engineer-
Where/What on any Remington action has the greatest tolerance variations??
Guess wisely?

Never move out of CA, as you fit in nicely with the other spineless FRUIT CAKES!!

Not really, I just had a simple question about action prices. You guys have made it more interesting to read!!:D:p
267 is better than ive seen- even though i dont need anymore 700s i may have been forced to buy one:Dat that price. cheapest way i know likes been said is buy an adl from wally for 378 plus tax and sell the parts you dont need. l was surprised what all the parts from one brought in the classifieds here not long ago. should be able to get the action price down to about 300.00 which is close. im gonna buy a long action and do that soon.

You can order a PTG trued M700 with their bolt and the extractor you want, unless .223, for less than $600 I think. That's pretty good for an action you can build on without going to a lot of trouble and expense making it behave. It won't be quite what a custom is but it will come pretty close.

If you say so....

You would probably be surprised since most people who look down their nose at Remingtons don't spend much time with them. I replace the trigger, add a side bolt release, put a good smooth bolt shroud in, and the comment I get most often is "wow, that's had a lot of work done to it" because it operates so smoothly.

At $600 isn't not such a slam dunk deal as it was last year when they had them on sale for $350. Instead of $600, I swap out the bolt and do the work myself.
