Remington 700 Action Screw Options

Looking to possibly buy 5 or so sets of Remington action screws. I used to get B-Square from Brownells, but figured there was a less expensive option out there with a nice looking head. I just combed McMaster Carr and couldn`t find the right screw with correct head diameter. I don`t mind buying them long and shortening them either. 1/4 x 28 with hex head or possibly torx. If you have a link or a picture of what your using that would be great. Maybe a stainless with black coating. This has been a long time for me finding the right screw. I have taken apart rifles that had awesome looking fastners. I am just silly that way, love nice parts, even the simple ones. I owned 3 Camaro street machines over the years back in my youth and always bought nice new bolts when rebuilding those small blocks.

Tim,

PM me your e-mail and i`ll send you a picture of them installed in a Rem. 700.

Phil.

I buy 1/4-28 X 2 socket head cap screws. I can put one in the lathe and cut the countersink angle on the back side of the head and radius the front side. Makes great looking screws that can be cut to any length you need.

This sounds like a good option.

One thing that makes the bat screws superior is they have a very deep cut out for the Allen wrench...makes it also impossible for it to wear/strip out. The bat screws really are unequalled by anything else unless the primary goal is to save money.

I think they are no longer available. B-Square might be out of the action screw business.
It's been a year or so since I purchased the last ones ,so it's possible I guess (haven't looked lately). But these were Brownell's house brand not B-Square.

I`ll check again, I always bought from Brownells but were the B`Square brand, extra long.
