savage action screw length

Im looking to build a 6.5 creedmore on a savage action. Iv been told that on the Model 10 that there is a difference in the action screw lengths Witch you have know when buying a stock. So im guessing just measure the length between them with a tape or calipers? This is why i like Remington 700.... haha

Measure the thickness of a screw and zero your calipers. Then measure outside to outside. This will give you center to center. This will be your spacing for your stock. There are several different ones but more than likely its either a 4.4 or a 4.275 unless its really old or built on a long action. Matt
