Remington 513T

A couple of days ago I posted that I was looking for a 22lr to train with. The Remington 513T was not included in the list simply because I did not know about it. Any way I went to the local gunstore and the owner showed me this particular weapon and fell in love with it. It was a little more than I had anticipated $595. It is in excellent condition has a redfield peep sight with extra posts for the front sight,no dings small minor dents on stock, and a 1.5lb trigger pull. Can't weight to try it out. Can anyone tell me if this rates as good as the cz 452, or the savage mkII, or the Rugher 77/22? I would like to hear the good and the ugly.

513T's are fine, fine rifles. I had one many years ago; traded it away and have regretted it ever since. My only reservation is that $595 may be a bit steep. Perhaps the dealer will be willing to do a bit of gentlemanly negotiating! Also, don't pass up a 541,S or T) if you encounter one.

Yeah, I've got a 513T in my past that I truly miss. It was a great rifle.

Take a look at prices on some of the auction sites. My brother and I bought one in good condition last year for our nephew and it was $350. Now I just need to buy one for myself......

Well folks its a Remington... Need we say more.. Great gun iam a CZ fan, but i sure wouldnt throw a Remington in the trash.

The 513T is a sweet 22 rimfire and don't even come close to any mentioned.
The Redfield peep sights are bringing well over $100.00 themselves..
I doubt I would part with mine for anything less than $500.00......

Hi

I just bought a real nice 513-T Matchmaster.

No rust, stock has nice patina. Lyman peep. Paid about $400 for it.

Can anyone give advice on how to improve on performance, trigger pull, tune etc?

Maybe I don't drive so well / :)

have fun Link

You might want to post this question as a new thread, you might get more responses as this has been around a while.

IMHO, The 513-T is as good as the CZ and Savage, and better then the Ruger.

A 1.5 trigger pull is excellent on a 513-T; leave yours alone! There is an adjustment scew, but it gives very limited adjustment, yours is just fine.

Does your rifle have grooves for the clamp-on, 3/8 dovetail scope rings? From the mid-50's untill the end of the run in 1969, they had grooves. Mine is grooved.

$595.00, you didn't pay too much, you just bough a bit early. Wait 1-1/2 years, then try to even touch one in that condition @ that price!

Can you post pics?

Yes it does. I will be going to the range today and shoot the 100 yd target. I will post pictures if I can figure it out after I come back. The rifle is accurate, it is my eyes that really suck.

I will try to post a jpg of the target I shot at 50 feet from the bags. This was with American Eagle [inexpensive amo]
2 shots on each target = I guess it is as good as I can drive.
