Rem long action 6br

I would like to have a 6br made for med to long range varmit shooting off a bench. My question is can I use my Rem long action,from my 270 win) for this build or go to some other 6mm round better suited for a long action?

It will do fine. I used Savage long actions for all my projects so that stocks, scope mounts etc would always interchange.
