REM/AGE ?

I would like the best shooters on this board to my club in the summer (Red Castle Tulsa)... and watch them trying to read the wind. Even David Tubb said Red Castle is nuts.

I did a search and found a 2 year old post, what's new? I have a rx1 700 30 br that I will replace the barrel. Who makes the best REM/AGE for it?
TYIA. Don
Give Stan a call, you will be happy with the results

I've gathered from my reading on this forum that there are a lot of bench rest guys, a lot of serious f-class shooters, and quite a few gunsmiths/machinists. Honestly, I wish I was all of those things. However, I'm not. Im an average joe with average shooting ability, and an average budget to fund my hobby. That said, I only ever considered and ultimately purchased my first Remage barrel arrangement after multiple experiences with Reputable gunsmiths that were incapable of keeping to their word for timing on delivery. I'm not one of these 'gotta have it now guys', but there is a serious problem in this industry in this regard. I dont gather that many of you have these problems because you either have the ability and equipment to do it yourself, or have had the fortune of finding a gunsmith that can deliver within a decent timeframe. You are lucky. What I have learned from my experiences with Remage and Savage barrel arrangements (10-12 barrels all from Northland Shooters Supply) is that they all have been reasonably priced, they all showed up within 4 days of being purchased, they all have been packaged well, and without damage, and they all shoot sub 1/2 moa. For an average guy, shooting long range stuff out to a mile and local fun matches and poker chip shoots, I think that is pretty darn good.

I have recently found a gunsmith that delivers as promised and is a very personable guy. I still choose to have him do chambering for me only on specialty projects (i.e. recently cut and prechambered a Shilen 243 win barrel to 6mm Dasher), because of the success that I have with prefit barrels.

I think there is room in the market for both prefits and custom chambering, but I dont think that some of the gunsmiths out there are doing themselves favors, with their inability to deliver as promised, and in a timely fashion. This is not intended to offend anyone, or start a ruckus. Just my observations and experience.
