Rem. ADL to a BDL

Need some suggestions/help here. I have a Remington LVSF in 221 Fireball and would really like to convert it to a BDL/drop plate or clip fed. I use the rifle for predators so it's always being loaded and unloaded on account of always in and out of truck. I know i'll have to do something with the stock, so a stock swap is already taken into consideration. Would a standard short action Rem BDL drop plate from a 223 work and feed reliably, the 221's have a block and a shorter follower in them. Feeding is a must for a quick follow up shot, in case a 2nd critter comes in. Thanks

Remington made their Limited Run Classic in a BDL Fireball and also a limited run with a Laminated wood stock prior to coming out with the LVSF. So the shorter BDL mag box is available in blue(I have 2 boxes with spring and followers as I would like to build a BDL as I sold my Classic) Any short action floorplate will work in either Black or Silver. So parts are available from Remington or probably even Brownell's or Midway, just gotta look around. Just to add I would have to look but believe the follower spring is shorter also than the 222/223 springs. Also the 17 Fireball should be the same puppy.

All short action floor plates are the same. You only need to get a BDL magazine box to replace the longer ADL box. All 221/222/223 boxes have the same spacer in the box. Springs and followers are the same.

DBM and Accuracy International plastic 10 shot magazines would be worth considering. Very easy to load and unload. Should feed the fireball well, but I have not tried that case in them myself.

This is not correct. The Fireball mag box has a thicker spacer buy probably 3/8" over the 222/223 box. The follower is cast and not stamped and is shortened accordingly to fit Fireball mag box. I would have to dig one out but am sure the spring is shorter also.

Sorry I meant to say the shorter mag box. SD Whirlwind you understand what I am wanting to do with this rifle? Sorry about not wording properly, I will try to check those places out that are mentioned for the parts I need. I remember seeing a post on here sometime ago a fella was looking for the same items. I also have the Laminated fireball brought out shortly after the classics and it shoots very well also, a little to pretty to bang up hunting, figured i'd use this LVSF and work off it to make to what I need. Hunted with it for 2 years now and have had great success on Coyote and Fox here in Pa.
