700 Rem question

I'm getting ready to put some Rem parts together.

I have a 700 BDL action with all BDL bottom metal.

The stock is a take-off from a LVSF-----ADL magazine-----and I have
an ADL trigger guard.

Will the BDL magazine box work with the ADL stock ? Do I need to get
an ADL magazine box ?

If I’m not mistaken, the ADL mag box provides an anchor point for the rear trigger guard screw. The BDL box does not have the anchor point. There might be a height difference between the 2 as well.

The box on the adl mag is taller and you will need the little screw that attaches it to the action.

Your BDL box doesn't have a provision to be attached to the action. The ADL box has a tab that is captured with a screw to the action. The BDL box is shorter to allow it to be captured between the bottom metal and the action.

The adl mag box screws onto the action in that little threaded hole off to one side in front of the trigger. Its not connected to the stock in any way. The hole for the middle screw is right in front of the trigger on the edge of where its cut out for the trigger

You guys nailed it----there is no tapped hole in this BDL action.
