rem 7saum or 284win

use 59grns(freebore .220) or so N165 with 180 vld or hybrid. It will give you 2950fps with stellar accuracy. Barrel life will be extended greatly with N-165. If that does not work try H1000 around 60grs. This is in my barrel so work up. The two powders i mentioned here will extend barrel life by at least 500-600 rounds. I did my first couple with H4831sc and barrels went south at 1400 rounds.
Is this load with the SAUM or the 284?
Thanks,

Lloyd

looking at short action and light weight . 284 seems to be right . got the 7 mag great gun but 284 on feather weight model 70 seems to fit . just wanted a thumbs up on ballistics . mike
Looking back at your original post, 200-400 yards is an easy feat for a 7-08 let alone a 284 or any of the 7 short mags. Lots of guys mentioning the 180 but truly at even 500 yards the 160 -168 line up would be a great recipe for medium sized hooved game. Most 284 bullets have a great BC by comparison so they handle a good amount of wind out to 400-500. I think your on target with that 284 sporter weight gun for deer size game. Good luck. Send your results.

I am going to hunt whitetail almost exclusively this year with a 6.5x47. I may use a 280Ai for really large fields. Hoping for the best with the 130 Berger Hunting VLD. Never shot a critter with the 47L or a Berger bullet. Killed lots of whitetail with Accubonds. Most have run unless both shoulders broken. Switched to the Ballistic Tip 140's last year and got better terminal performance on deer. Have used TTSX's as well with success. Looking forward to trying the Berger 168's and 130's.

Been hitting whitetail for three seasons now with my 6.5 creedmoor running the 140 VLD hunting. They never go more then 10 yards. Absolutely awesome deer bullet. I even put a bad gut shot on one two years ago and its still didnt go more then 10 yards. Im sure all that bonded stuff is great on elk but the Berger VLD's have been perfect for my whitetail.

Love those bullets my self in both my 260 and 6.5-284. They DO droppem fast. The 95 vlds for the 243 so the same. Try some 140 Amax bullets. You'll love them too.
