Rem 700p 22-250

Does Remington produce the 700p (police) in 22-250 rem. I looked on the Remington sight but no 22-250
A friend has one for sale and says it is a 700p.

you might try the serial number and contact remington. maybe they can tell u if it is indeed a factory offered rifle. i do know that in the past remington has sold firearms that were never listed on the website. actually i have seen several manufacturers do this. i dont know if it is because some of them are such a small run of firearms they didnt feel it was important to list them in the catalog or on the website or what the reason is.

To my knowledge the 700P has only been offered in 223, 308 and 300WM. Perhaps the 338 Lapua when it was introduced????

The P stands for Parkerized so if the 22/250 is parkerized than he has something nobody else has. Guessing he has a VS(Varmint Synthetic) that might have been put in a P stock?

The 700P (police) is the same thing as the SPS Varmint besides it has a H&S stock and a 40X LE trigger. They are both parkerized and have 26" Rem Varmint contour barrels. I dont believe they make them in 22-250. Get the serial number and look it up.

The first 700P's were parkerized. I see now they list the SPS Tactical as being "black oxide" finished. The SPS Varmint's are listed as being "matte blued"!

Also I cannot find a current P/PSS listing. The SPS Tactical comes with a Hogue stock and not an HS like the older models.

They were also made in 300 RUM. All the 700P/PSS stocks I've seen had 2 front studs in the stocks.
