Rem 700 SA bolt rebuild

I would like to know if and how can the bolt handle on a factory 700 bolt be removed without damaging the bolt and handle and then repolished smooth and reinstalled after truing and timing the handle for caming. I have viewed several video's that show how to assemble but not on taking it apart. I would purchase a new bolt assembly from PTG but am on a very tight budget being in school. Also is it safe to open up the bolt face on this 223 bolt face to accept a standard cartridge face. This being 308. I know that the extracter would become useless but already have a new sako style extractor given me by good friend. Extra work is ok on this project but not spending money on new components.

lol that is what the first post offered and what I am doing. although I will still retime it. Got to learn how to do this at some point and more fun to learn now.

To answer the question, if it has been silver soldered on it just takes a bit of heat to remove it..
If it has been tig welded on, then it needs to be cut off....
Opening the bolt face is not a problem....
Swapping bolts is your cheapest route....
