Rem 700 Need bolt release trigger assy. solution...

I have a Rem 700 that has a Rifle Basix trigger group that has no bolt release.
Why not just buy a Rifle Basix trigger kit, transfer the bolt release to your trigger, and sell the NEW Rifle Basix trigger. Lots of folks out there that don't need the bolt release option.

The problem besides being unattractive, trying to be nice here, you have to D&T for a 5/16 thread. Now you have a big hole in the side of your action. Then the pull knob sticks out like a big ugly wart. Sorry I'm just not a fan and would look for other options.

This is a pretty easy job. I like to use the Defiance style stops, but the Lawton/Nosler style is the easiest as they are fairly inexpensive and readily available (https://pacifictoolandgauge.com/misc-remington-parts/296-bolt-stop-lawton-nosler-style-4140.html) and the ends are circular so you only need a 3/16 endmill to make the cutout.

Gene,

Very nice! Clean and functional, what's not to like. May have to do several for myself. Nice print by the way.

That is the best option and will only increase the value of your action. If not that option, then get another trigger from many of the other manufactures. If the down time of being without the action, then the trigger will be quicker and cost about the same or a little more than the custom work. Mr. Scott is a forum sponsor and I think his Jewels are in the $215 range. Great triggers and if you sell your action some day, you can still have a great trigger.
