Rem 700 Need bolt release trigger assy. solution...

I have a Rem 700 that has a Rifle Basix trigger group that has no bolt release. This has got me nasty looks from range officers when told to remove your bolts and I'm fumbling around for my trusty paperclip. Is the Sinclair "pull knob" style a simple solution without buying a different trigger group?

On some of my 700s i mostly shoot off the bench i didnt put the bolt stop back in when installing trigger- ya gotta be careful but its handy/. mabie its required for your competitions To me the stud through the side of receiver is yuck. They work of coarse but prob devalue your action. I have your setup with a rifle basix on one of mine and im thinking i should sell it and get a jewel ect-- the rocker type bolt stop install on a 700 seems very nice to me. i may try one of those.

I thought about just removing it completely but was afraid I'd do something stupid and pick up the rifle and have the bolt fall out on the ground.

On some of my builds I have tig welded an attachment to the bolt stop that comes up along side of the receiver, much like the bolt stop on a Howa 1500. Works good.

that has happened to me
Ok. Now I’m thinking. I wonder if a good metal worker could create a bolt stop that simply replaces the Remington piece of metal with a spring that provides just enough tension to keep the bolt from dropping out, but can be “overpowered “ when you want to remove the bolt.
In for a try, Kim? You’ll make millions on the patent.

Call Area 419 and talk to John about a side bolt release. He did 2 of them for me and they are great!!

My rifle built on an XP action has no bolt release. I have to use a pop sickle stick to remove the bolt. A friend is a fan of the button style release but I just don't cotton up to them. They work but like said....yuk!!

@Lefty Trigger try using the long end of a small allen wrench that barely fits into the slot.
I have a "special bent" paperclip that hangs on my range bag but I dont bring that bag to the line. Some range officers want that bolt removed, period. Ok, I get it.
I have ordered one of the Sinclair pull knob release kit but if it's janky looking I might just pass, kinda need to see one in person before passing my judgement on them. Sometimes it's function over looks...

I use a wooden coffee stirring stick, about 6" long and 1/4" wide and thick enough to not break easily. I always a few extra just in case. Also have a Widget, but it cost me a few dollars.

thats a good idea. I will think about it. One things for sure i hate the factory type lever on the trigger housing. i really do like the ones milled and drilled into receiver similar to a bat.
may just get custom actions and put the rems on the shelf. i thought about adapting a mauser style to as i like them.

also rifle basix may do some sort of trade to. Id call and ask before doing anything else. Jewel offered me that once.
