Most folks going that deep into a bolt will remove the handle

Certainly would have been easier. This one looks brazed on. I don't have the tooling to deal with that... and it's already timed pretty well.

Got it wrapped up. Went from ~15 thou bolt play to 3-4. This bolt was really far out... I can't tell if it's incredibly badly worn, or just a crap bolt. The body was 16 thou out of round... but it's older than me and saw probably 50k rounds.

I checked the lugs and they only needed a quick lap to get full contact back, so I assume I did an alright job keeping things on track.

You can gain some working clearance by reverting to a lantern style tool post in some cases.

I use a polished insert and just stuck the tool holder out pretty far, cutting pressure is super light.
