Remington introduced this cartridge in 1971 in the Remington 700 BDL deluxe. This caliber was made until 2001 in the 700 BDL enhanced grade with engraved receiver. A model 700 classic was also offered in 1981 with a limited production. There exists a lot of confusion since Remington also made the 17 Remington Fireball in the Classic for one year. The 17 Fireball has a faster twist of 1-9. Much of the bad press was from poor cleaning of the rifle as some bullets would foul the barrel out quickly. Also folks shooting the heavier bullets didn't understand barrel twist. Stay with 25 grain bullets and clean thoroughly and often.I just picked one of these bad boys up at a local gun shop. From what I read and could find find these were only made for 1 year, 1971 can anyone tell me if this is right and about how much it’s worth? Thanks
