6 Dasher with rem.700 action

I am wanting to build a 6 dasher on a rem 700 action. Will the rem. feed and eject the dasher case. I have herd different stories on this subject. It will be a single shot.

Welcome to the forum Dj! Assuming you're building it on a short action and as long as your bolt has a 308 bolt face you should be fine!

Mike

My mistake Dj, I saw the trade count of 1 and thought it was the post count ;)! Fingers went into gear before the brain!

If you mean you just wanna throw it in the port and want it to feed, highly unlikely.

If you mean feed it from the magazine, yup, it works fine in several of mine.

techshooter (member on this forum) shoots a Dasher based on a Remington 700 action with excellent results. He's got a great build article on his rifle here:

I have one. Single shot. Only problem was that the ejector spring was too strong, bullet tips hit front of port. After spring was shortened slightly, it ejects well.

I shoot a 6 BRX in a 700 with a Davidson single shot follower epoxied in. I had problems from the prone position with the buttstock out of the shoulder and loading (no ejector, filled hole with drill rod). The case would slide back into the bolt face, which tipped the point of the bullet down and it would hit the back of the barrel stub. My solution was to make sure the round is laid in the loading port carefully so the base does not go into the bolt face. It then chambers perfectly.

Other, wiser shooters told me to stop taking the gun out of my shoulder to solve the problem. I am sure they are correct, but have not been able to do that comfortably without getting fatigued to the point of distraction before the end of the string.

Don't know if a Dasher is would have the same issue.
