does this mean they are back in production? If so its not the old Remington.
mabie one of these days we will see it in the bulletinSame people, same plant, same action. Different owner.
A large gun dealer in PA - Grice's Gunshop, lists recently manufactured Rem Arms 700 ADL in 308 for sale so they are coming out. Grice's does both wholesale and retail. located in Clearfield , PA
So less than $500.00 is the sale price. How much do they normally sell for? As in retail price. One of my distributers shows long action chrome molly back in stock with x-mark trigger. They will sale for less than 500.00
like everything else its supply and demand-- the market will settle at a certain price point for them. ive got a few for personal use. from now on any other actions i buy will prob be customsUnfortunately the days of a Remington action for $400 bucks are gone. They used to make a great starting point for a budget build. I don't see myself buying one at $600 when I can spend an extra $300 and be in a custom action built with better tolerances, spiral fluting and large knob.
They never were as true and consistent as a Pierce. At these prices, just bite the bullet and get a BAT, Borden or Kelbly action. I have the all and all are just great.A bit more expensive than before the bankruptcy.
As others have pointed out, a little more and we can get a custom.
Remington's still in trouble unless their new production actions are as true and consistent as, say, a Pierce.
I agree, they are ok for hunting deer sized game. And I’ll admit, occasionally you will get a sho nuf “shooter”. LolThey never were as true and consistent as a Pierce. At these prices, just bite the bullet and get a BAT, Borden or Kelbly action. I have the all and all are just great.
A 700 can be trued and the barrel threads single point cut and they will make a fine action but by the time you have done that you can get a custom action for not much more. If you go the Rem truing you still have a Rem action and prolly will never be able to come close to getting your money back. The Rem 700, imo, was an action for the masses. In the end, its your money to spend the way you see fit.
yes i have the remingtons because doing my own work on my rifles is my hobby and part of that is to be able to clean up those actions. i have the investment in equipment. If I buy a custom action/s those three you mention would be at the top of my list. They never were as true and consistent as a Pierce. At these prices, just bite the bullet and get a BAT, Borden or Kelbly action. I have the all and all are just great.
