Link? Not wanting, not selling. I know they’re usually slow as hell to deliver, but I see PTG has new complete 700 bolt and receiver advertised at $399 in any configuration you want. Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m seeing the used ones trading higher on this site!
Agree, asking prices are often high, at least IMO. But hey, it's a free country and people are free to overpay if they so choose.but I’m seeing the used ones trading higher on this site!
I’ve had just the opposite experience. Had to cancel a custom order after almost a year of delays and poor communication.
Don't trust the pictures...I did and even emailed them asking some questions before placing my order....still didn't get the same thing as pics or the "gunsmith" told meThe picture on PTG's website shows an RAR action with the rest of the serial blurred out. These typically are very straight and true, but the bolt primary extraction leaves a lot to be desired. They mention "precision bolt" which could mean that they have done something to address this. For $399 I'd consider this. I wish they had a non-bolt option and I'd get a PTG one or two-piece bolt for it. Caveat emptor.
Glad your experience was better than mine, and a lot of others. I also got a blueprinted action but a model seven. When it arrived I couldn't even get the bolt open. Being my first action only purchase I wasn't sure what was going on, figured I was doing something wrong. Come to find out the cocking piece was bent and binding up in the raceway. Ordered a Gre-Tan replacement and solved the issue. The action also had several spots of pitting on it and even the custom bolt they spray painted over like yours. Also the photos online show a raw polished bolt not a black one.I purchased a blue printed action for just under $600 delivered. Ordered it on 12/1 and picked it up at the FFL on 1/20. I didn't know they have quality control issues.View attachment 1735941
