Rem 580 conversion to CF

A buddy and I would like some ideas on what to use/make as a single shot loading ramp on centerfire Rem 580. Ours are in 17 Hornady Hornet. I've made some up for use on 788s. However, the case size of the Hornet case presents new challenges. Has anyone used something similar to a magazine follower spring?????? or?????

If memory serves me right Dick Saunders has done quite a few of these over the years I do not know if he is still with us . His business is Saunders Machine I believe he is Iowa. He uses a lot of rimed cases such as the 357 mag
