reloading the 6br norma

is there a difference in reloading data between the 6br remmy and the 6br norma? thanks, SPM

Some of the old Remington brand brass had larger flash-holes, and there may be a slight difference in case capacity. Use Lapua brass and follow the loads you'll find in this website.

Redding sells full length and neck dies that are the same for both cases. If there is a difference in head space how can this be? I don't doubt Redding, I just don't understand. If they are so close why did the 6 BR Rem never catch on? Just the difference in the flash hole?

In the 6BR REM the COAL is about 2.150. In the 6BR Norma it's 2.441. Most people have taken to using the 6BR REM chambering.

To complicate matters, and this is where even I always get confused and irritated, is that Lapua brass clearly states "6BR Norma" on the box.

The case and the chamberings are two different animals. I found it out the hard way when I first loaded for my 6BR at the "Norma" spec...and couldn't chamber a round... -Rod-

Rod - recommended COAL means nothing...

also "6mmBR Norma" is the name of the round...Lapua just happens to make brass for it. Just like Remington and Lapua, and everyone else) make brass for the "308 WINCHESTER" ;)
