Reloading room floor.

Whenever I go to load ammo, I place a 8’10’ canvas drop-cloth at the loading area. Anything dropped usually ends up on the cloth and is easily found by carefully raising up the corners of the cloth and lifting, forcing all the ‘stuff’ into a pile in the middle. I put the drop-cloth away when doing other gun related stuff.

I goofed when I built my house and epoxied the reloading room with the same color scheme as the garage. Brown with black speckles, I couldn’t have picked a worse color scheme, if a screw or spring drops I lose them half the time. I’m gonna cover it with another coat of epoxy, probably a brown (I don’t like the grey). I keep the floor mats where I do most my loading, I like standing and they help.

PPG paint store is your friend. Pay once/cry once is less painful than a screwed up floor. Carpet runners from Amazon in many colors and widths with rubber backing for the under the bench areas.

So anyone with carpet have a problem with static? I have used mats for years to soften the standing and protect dropped parts. Carpet would do the same but I don't like the potential for static.

Ed, I sure haven't. Our area has an average morning/afternoon humidity of 82%/63%...stays pretty constant except in the summer when it can push into the 90% range at times. I think the lowest I've ever seen in the Winter was 53%.

In a dry environment, it sure wouldn't hurt to run a ground wire or add a small humidifier.

Good shootin' -Al
