Reloading Room Cabinets- How High Off Bench?

Nice setup— are those 3 lubrisizers over there to the left? I like the sliding worktop idea to -I might incorporate one of those on my bench. And I defineately need some of those danger signs.:)

Yes Hoz. I make the H&I dies, along with custom top punches. Also make hybrid inline seating dies. Haven't loaded a jacketed rifle bullet in over,at least 5 years? 50,100,150 yd range out the back door. Was shooting swaged cast 55g 223's @2600fps today.

Mine are 20" above the bench. I've been very happy with the clearance. My bench is 30" wide from the wall. I wouldn't want it any narrower. I used a Sears work bench base and butcher block top. The bench is 42" tall. I prefer to stand most of the time and like the extra height. Not the best drawer slides but I like having the drawers. I use another 42" roll around for a cleaning table and additional storage.20180101_223245.jpg 20180220_211631.jpg

I do like the drawers- I guess I’m used to those with my tool boxes. I got a lot of wasted space Under my bench— Mabie I’ll get some of the drawers— I think they are a more efficient use of space than cabinets

Put shelves up in lieu of cabinets. Shelves are much more accessible and things are found quickly. I put my bench next to a window for natural light so make sure you have plenty of light. At least one 4foot shop light and 2 would be better.

A progressive with case feeders and bullet feeders is tall. Taller on an In-line mount. Cabinlet doors will be non-functional quickly. My solution for storage was to build shelves ADJACENT to the loading area not directly behind it. I have a 4-1/2 foot area of wall floor to ceiling of 6 & 8 inch shelves on Rubbermaid shelf tracks.

Beautiful wood cabinets. When your 30 lower cabinets w/doors is
a standard approach. When you reach 70 they arent a good idea at all.
Hind site is 20/20. If I could do mine over the lower cabinets would be all drawers. Those drawer depths would be sized
according to contents. Getting down on the floor to see whats
in the back of a cabinet isnt as easy as it use to be. LDS

Where do the stereo speakers go?

Seriously, though, my loading bench is in the garage and I use a big tool box with drawers wide enough for barrels and keep all my bullets, dies, loading manuals, live ammo, gun parts, tools etc.

I see H. Depot has some nice ones these days with lots of work space on top. Good place for tumblers, or vibrating cleaners and gun cleaning equip.

Beautiful design and workmanship you got there. I like the wood look very much.

SPJ- They are indeed 31'' tall.
LarryDScott- In my ealry 30's so back is still good!
Texas10- Opposite wall of the safe (not in photo) next to flatscreen ;)
Okie- There is a long narrow room off of this room that might make a perfect walk in vault...

perfect! forward thinking

I see 49.5 inches available between bottom of upper cabinets and ceiling, so I'm going to go out on a limb and guess 40 inch cabinets above the bench.
