Scheeles in Rochester Mn had shelves stacked with a pretty good variety of ammo, lots of slugs now that deer season is done. Lots of hornady bullets, some on clearance, lots of vv powders, magpro a few others. No primers though. Ammo boxes that fill space where primers and ammo used to go are on clearance. Prices on ammo and componants were almost back down to pre covid prices also. Hopefully all the idiot panic buyers are shopping for xmas presents for their nincompoop inlaws and drunk uncles, so the ammo companies will overshoot production just in time for a after xmas sale
Also, if anyone needs shotshell primers for a muzzleloader scheels is saving some to sell to muzzleloader customers 100 at a time.

That would be awesome.

My LGS called today and said he got RL17 in and since I was on the wait list he'll hold 1lb for me through the weekend. It's not much, but considering he hasn't got an Alliant shipment since Aug 2020 I'm pretty happy.

I have bought from them sevral times. They ship very quickly, even in the last few weeks.
I've always had good success ordering from them. They had small rifle primers available last week in 1000/unit. I bought 5000 and they came withing a week. I was checking them this afternoon looking for 209s for my ML.

SRPs galore

I wonder….hunting ammo production has dropped off….so we are down stream on the flow of components?

.
It could well be that someone has finally started to sort out the issues at the ports. Many powders are manufactured in Australia. And rumor has it that CCI has a number of primers that are produced over seas as well

Rumors.... rumors....rumors and more....

Natchez had a big powder drop and some of the pricing is great. Bought some IMR 7828scc, also saw winchester 748 and a few others. Missed the Retumbo.

Every business must turn a profit at the end of the year. In order to stay in business any company must prorate its prices dependant on the amount of product it sells. With the scarcity of gunpowder, the price must rise in order to keep their doors open. Yes they can lay off employees and reduce operating costs but that also cost money. Layoffs cause an increase in a company's unemployment taxes. Then when the products become plentiful again, laid off employees don't always come back to work because they have found new employment. Don't blame Powder Valley or any other major retailer for the price increase. They know well that increased prices will hurt their reputation.

Lat year, a friend and I bought 16lbs of SW for $156.00 for 8 pounds plus $19.00 hazmat and a few dollars shipping. . One pound bottles were $21.50 a pound.

I suspect that prices will soon go back to what we all would consider normal in less that 6 months. Everything is becoming more readily available. There was a time you could not buy any powder or primers anywhere. At least now more and more supplies are out there.

People forget the inflation rate and that dollar is not worth crap. I dont know of anything that is the same price as a year ago.
