Reloading AR 10, .308 suggestions. Will ballistic tips work on Semi-auto?

I was going to reload some rounds for an AR 10, hunting loads mainly. I was wondering if there would be any issues with a Nosler Ballistic tip on a semi-auto rifle?

I've never had problems with them from a Rem. 742/7400, just watch the OAL not to interfer while being stripped out by the bolt.

I never had a problem with them in my BAR, but I use a different bullet in the AR-10. Someone told me after a day at the range with his AR-10 shooting ballistic tips, he discovered that some tips were left behind. I guess depending how your mag lips are allowing the case to go in to the feed ramps on the barrel extension will make the difference.

That was all second hand info on the tips breaking off, no first hand knowledge.

The nose gets dinged up quite a bit if you have to keep rechambering it.

I shoot a bunch of BT's in the AR-15 platform, loaded to max length, no issues.

I have used the 165 Nos hunting BT's in my dpms lr308 almost exclusively and never had an issue. I load them to mag length with a touch of varget.

55 gr. nosler ballistic tips work flawless out of my ar and are deadly accurate 8)
