Thinking of trying reloader 22 in a 284 Shehane with 180vld bergers an 30" barrel. Has anyone had any luck with it?

I've yet to see any RL powders that burned clean. I'm beginning to believe they use sut in there powder.

I suggest one worries more about accuracy and speed than whether it burns dirty or not. My opinion.
Quickoz said:Shootdots, why cant you clean between ranges? My experience with reloder is that its easier to clean out then H series powders like H4350 and alike.
You will have no accuracy based on what??? as stated before I have ran a gun all day with some RL powders. It all has to do with barrel break in and load development. I have a gun that I can go shoot long rang bench rest with and fire say 70-75 rounds, then take it to the range the next day and fire 20-25 more and the accuracy doesn't change. Clean it to bare metal and put 1 fouler down the barrel and it's right back on the money.ShootDots said:Changeling said:Reloader 19 & 22 are 2 of my best powders for my 280 AI and 6mm Rem AI. Not if you're in F-Class competition. You will have no accuracy well in advance of the end of competition.. Shooting BenchRest or some competition where you have short shot strings OR you can clean>>>>no problem, other than that, you WILL run dry on good accuracy..

So you dont get say 10 mins to give rifle a quick scrub with hoppes no 9 to get majority or carbon and powdet fouling out and give a quick scrub with boretech for copper. You can do both within about 10-15mins. It wont get your barrel bare metal clean but will get majority out. Thats what I do after shooting 2 ranges. Also I know where my first shot off clean barrel will go. At 900m, hold top of V ring and its an X usually. You dont need to foul a barrel to shoot good scores.
