Regulator and gauge mod for the Giraud annealer...

I installed the parts last night, and I found it to be an improvement. I also installed a new speed control that has a wider range so it is not too touchy. Very easy to do also. Not my video but I used it for the instructions:
.
Well , I know what I'm doing this weekend.
Thanks !

By the way, does anyone know if this regulator would work with the small camp sized propane bottles? I realize that the fitting selection would be different, but as far as pressure goes. Thanks!

I use the small camp bottles on mine with the new regulator... it shows you when you need to make a little adjustment of the new valve.

Anyone having trouble with the gauge mod? Are the threads matching on the gauge and torch head? Seems some of them might be different.

I tried installing it tonight, and only got about half of the fittings to match. Giraud must have switched some parts at some point. The gauge does not not have the same threads as the knob it is replacing on mine and the fittings in the giraud hose are also a different thread pitch. Bummer, I was hoping this was going to work.

That is a bummer. Sorry.

I’m glad you did, I meant to follow up. I ended up bringing the connections I had in to the local hardware store and after about 10 minutes rummaging through the plumbing fittings, I had a adapter solution that works just great for under $10.

Thanks again TerryH for posting the idea, I love being able to monitor the pressure when doing large batches rather than just eyeballing it.

I am having problems getting the gauge to screw into the needle valve opening. I have an annealeez but upgraded to a Weldmark torch. I believe the Weldmark are used on the Giraud. I have tried everything I know and asked everyone who might know. Do you have a fix?

Thank you in advance for any direction you can offer.

Pressure gauge not fitting mystery solved. I ordered a BRASS ADAPTER 1/8" NPT FEMALE X 1/8" BSPP MALE from eBay and it works exactly as I needed. Caution - your torch may need an entirely different adapter. Good luck with it.

Sorry Gerald. Just now saw this. Glad you got it worked out.

I have done the regulator mod, and managed to get the volt meter fitted into the machine. The wiring explanation in the Annealeze video is just different enough from the Giraud wiring, that my extremely limited electrical knowledge won't quite let me finish. If anyone could help out with a pic of the wiring of their completed GIraud connections, I would appreciate it.
