Refinishing HS Precision stock

just got a thought when previous post mentioned skate tape...would using steel bed or something similar....then add light grit sand to it...then paint it on with a pop sicle stick work....I used to do something similar to paint...i added some sand and painted my trees with it to keep beavers from chewing on the trees....the bark always had a grit to it and they didnt like it...

O have read posts with using Marine tex or Steel bed in the manner you speak of I just could not locate any locally. I thought about trying JB weld but decided not to use it at all. I have finished it with krypton and debating whether to send it to HS. I have next to nothing in it

8 yr old thread but dead on the money.... So has anyone tried to sand or remove material on the palm swell? I think this model HS Pr. is good value, but I am not a fan of the palm swell. thanks. MW
