Reduce Vibes/Relieve Action

On the range....

Yes sir, there you go! I've played with barrel block guns for years and now have some good experience with my first center fire clamped/stabilized barrel. They do work! In next few weeks I'll be testing to 1,000 yds. I have really good data on conventional stock 6.5 x 47. Won a number of F-class matches with them, but have shot just as well with several other calibers until now! Out of twelve custom built rifles, this gun is currently my best shooter! Thanks for sharing!

Howdy, again!

Forgot the to mention...
On the pic of my gun @ the range, you can see a short vertical black line( marker pen ) on the barrel; 1/2" Aft of the barrel clamp. Mor

My thought with this barrel clqmp set up was to gain the ability to tune-out veritcle shot dispersion. I spec'd the 29" SS 6mm
5 groove Broughton for a longer straight section over the chamber area, to facilitate use of the relocqable barrell clamp assembly. I started range work with the aft edge of the doubled-up plumber's clamp plates butt-up against the front vertical plane of the recoill lug.

I only had to re-locate the clamp assy fwd

Oops! Hit transmit by mistake, above.

I only had to move the clamp assy fwd in 2 separate 1/4"
increments. The black lines shows the total 1/2" off fwd clamp
adjustment.

1/4-20 Carriage bolts w/ one side of head cut for plate clearance. Doubled-up bottom torque plates taken from
appropriate sized " U- bolts ". Nylon insert 1/4-20 lock nuts,
torqued to 24" lb.

Works for me ! I am shooting a 6mm wildca-chambered, of my own design.

With regards,

Yes, I see what you are doing! You are basically tuning the harmonic on the action end rather than muzzle end with a tuner. It can all be done multiple ways and the guys who use tuners have their deals figured out as well. We all know harmonics is a big deal. Good job. If it works, the paper will tell us!

OK Gents, got this deal about wrapped up. Nothing earth shattering, but I do believe that many of you guys in long range competition could potentially see a decrease in group size with this concept. Lots of work but at all ranges we are seeing some good things. Factory ammo was a big eye opener. We now have consistent grouping and agg's of low-mid 2"s at 100 yards with 123 smk. This pretty much concludes the comparison testing.
