REDDING SAUM Die question

Just wanted some opinions, I have a new Redding FLS Type s SAUM die #77280. It measures .545" at the mouth or the case webb area. (2" line) My fired brass measures .551" at the same point. While trying to resize using One Shot lube on the brass it seems impossible to push the case into the die and don't want to break the die. It goes in about 3/4 of the way then appears to jam tight. Is the die measurements correct?? I would have thought it would be closer to .548"

You have to use a lot of one shot and then let it dry. Try the red wax Hornady sells in a silver tin. You wont break the die with those numbers and you will be able to size your brass. In fact you got lucky.

With OneShot the new die must be cleaned completely and remove all the preservative oil inside the die. Then spray the inside of the die with OneShot, this will help prevent the case from binding in the die.

Make sure you shake the one shot can for a full 30 seconds. Hose down the case at 45 degree angle from 4 directions. Let dry full minute or two... then try.

I had an older can of one shot and didn't shake very well. If you are meeting that resistance still, then try a different lube.

Ok thanks for the replies. I used plenty of One Shot, shook the can for ages applied heaps and waited a long time for it to dry, but it wouldn't go into the die, just jammed. I did try another lube, home made with Lanolin, resized the brass quite well. So, because of this, maybe One Shot isn't as good with the big Mag cases as .308 size

But did you clean your die with ahead of using it? You really need to get the oil out of the die. It's like sandpaper in combination with your brass.

Yes thoroughly cleaned, dried then applied lots of well shaken One Shot but the Lanolin worked
