It is also probable that Redding is having the same employee problems as the rest of the U.S. manufacturing. Not enough qualified people to handle the work load. It's also probable that Redding has reduced it's staff on the QC side in favor of production and profits.Most mass produced dies are case hardened and polished after they are finished machined . If you Chuck one up and true it with a good indicator, you will see that they are not round.
There is always the possibility that the die in question got by quality control.
This is old ground as far as I'm concerned. I've made several statements regarding both mass produced dies and more importantly, Redding and their egregious pricing for their lowered quality products. Over-priced and under-delivered, simply put.
Several years ago I started taking barrel steel and making my own dies. Much easier and ready when I need them without extensive wait times. I would love to be able to order Warner Custom Dies but I choose not to afford them. They're nice but simply beyond what I want to pay.
Redding quality is way beneath the prices you're asked to pay for low quality manufacturing.
