Recommendations for new concentricity gauge

Hello all,

I'm looking for recommendations for a new concentricity gauge. I have an older Sinclair,pre-roller bearing model) that I'm not particularly enamored with and I think I'm about due for a change. The models I'm aware of include the current Sinclair unit, the Neco, the RCBS Casemaster, the Bersin tool, H&H, and... I think thats about it for now ;) Mainly looking to see if there are any I've overlooked, and to narrow the field a bit.

If you have a particular model you recommend, I'd enjoy hearing about it, and specifics of what you do like,or don't like) about it. If you have experience w/ more than one model that'd be great.

I'm not looking for a debate about the merits of checking concentricity, just to nip that in the bud. ;)

Thanks,

Monte

Monte,

Forget the Casemaster for cases under .308 sized or with a lot of body taper. The brass rides on v-blocks and this just doesn't work well with short cases.

I was just talking with Boyd Allen today about concentricity gauges. He feels that the NEW Sinclair with ball bearings works well, and the H&H has the bullet straightening feature that actually works IF you don't run a lot of neck tension.

A friend loaned me the H&H to compare with the new Sinclair model. After using both my personal preference runs with the Sinclair, which I bought). The H&H just seemed more bother than it was worth and the straightening feature worked with mixed results for me. With most of my rounds run out is less than .001. The few that are over become foulers or sighters.
In my opinion excessive run out signals a problem elsewhere in your brass or die setup which you need to fix rather than trying to straighten each round which won't correct the initial problem.

I use a modified H&H,different dial indicator that moves out 1 more 0 and a roller tip Stick at SG&Y he is S&S Precision now came up with that idea)and it works great!!
