Rechambering from 6BR to (insert something here)

I've got a 30in 6br barrel with a 1-7.5 twist that I want to rechamber into something else that can push the 110-115 quicker then then 6br. What options do I have that allow me to keep as much of the barrel length as possible?
What is your intended use. Hard to beat a Dashed or BRX. Proven track records, good barrel life, ability to shoot very small groups at any distance, look at the records. If your looking to muscle through conditions with less barrel life and a little less accuracy one of the larger cases.

This is for any prone rifle and to push a 110 or 115 for all its worth just because Id like to try it. Basically for $#!ts and giggle because I can. :)

Cam I ask what bullet and velocity you’ve had with your 30in 6BR. Thinking about one myself and curious what is reasonable to expect. Thx

Just ordered a 6mm SLR reamer from Dave Manson to change a 6 BRX. Criterion barrel 7.5 twist. Nothing wrong with BRX, but wanted to change for a cartridge that would use the magazine. Before you tell me that a BR mag is available from MDT, we have now have a 10 shot limit, thanks to a very left government. Have a single shot in BRX and will probably build another. Great cartridge.

I am running my 107s around 2785 fps, I will double check when I get home. It may not be the fastest load but in load development its what the barrel liked.

I watched all of this and I will say this, I went from a Dasher to a SLR, a 243 with a 30 degree shoulder and what I gained was zip.... It shot faster but it would not shoot small, total waste of time. I'm now playing with the 6mm improved and it will run a 105 at 3000 with 31 gr. of H4895 and a 110 at 2914 both shoot in the zero's and 4" at a 1000. If you think you can beat the conditions with speed and give up accuracy, it doesn't work. Good tune is the best for beating the wind and hummer barrel is the absolute best in the wind. So best is to learn what you have and learn to read the wind better......... jim

You are going have to do something pretty miraculous to beat the 6Bra. It's too easy... and those barrel scorches are not going to score better. Largest I would go is 6xc for mag feeding. I am not sure I would feed the 6bra from a mag, although I have not tried.

I have two 6bras and they are both seriously impressive for tune window. Waiting on number three to get done.

6bra number 2 which is a rechambered 6br Rock Creek fireforming with AR Comp from a bipod and squeeze bag. Shot yesterday.

Shot the same from 29.2 to 29.9. Berger 108s.
