rechambering a 6mm br question

Just wondering if anyone had just rechambered a 6mm br by running a 6mm br reamer in deeper and using 22-250 brass? You would have a parallel section about .4" long then the taper of the 6mm br cartridge. Thinking you could use a 6mm br sizer for the upper part and maybe a 30-06 AI sizer for the base if needed. Kind of like a 6mm creedmoor.

Sometimes I have too much time on my hands to think about this stuff:)

I would say you're better off doing it with a 6 Creed reamer. It could turn out to be a sizing nightmare. Sell your BR reamer and then use the funds to buy your new reamer and go guage.

You need to measure the back end of the reamer and a piece of brass. The reamer may cut too big or small at the back of the chamber. Too big is more common when running reamers in long for things they weren't designed for.

swd--you are correct. Too large at the back end of the reamer.

Made it into a 243 instead since I had a new reamer on the shelf. Will see how it shoots!!
