Rechamber to .338 ARC or Blackout?

Howdy,

It seems my .338 Win Mag Carbine is a little too rowdy. I’m thinking of having the bbl set back to 16.1”. Thoughts? I’d probably need to bush the bolt face. Would the .308 carbine on the left be a better victim? New bbl? Rebore?

I know, April is a long way off. PS. The .338’s work fine as is, even if they’re rowdy…

Those are beautiful hunting rifles that will do their job and please in the hand as is. Sell the 308 to me so I can save it from a sad demise.

Might look at the 30 Hamr barrel for the 308W? About 30/30 performance and lots less recoil. 300BO is fun but why waste a good 308W.

300 HAM’R is based on 223 parent case, which means a .378 bolt face.
