Excellent old Remington to build on. It’s neat but there’s a lot of them out there, I’d say dream away and build that quarter bore!

Certainly special.... Those early 70's ADL stocks are the cream of the crop with the thin forearms.

That rifle is barely broken in! with a little tweeking it might be a real winner.

25/06AI Excellent. I have one on a BSA Viscount action/Pac-Nor. Weighs in at around 5lb. I would use a faster twist, if I built another - maybe 8 or 9? Bullets ain't getting shorter.

I enjoy older actions. I just acquired a Sako L579 (Forrester) Not sure what to build yet- perhaps a 6BR? Dasher? 6 Creed? No rush.

The answer is a borescope. I was given a beautiful old 700 in 222. Perfect on the outside! I was jumping for joy until I cleaned it and borescoped the barrel. It was horribly corroded with deep pits thru its entire length from lack of maintenance. Damn shame.

I inherited a SAKO L46 in 222 with the magazine. Mine sounds like yours, it looks almost new on the outside but the bore has seen better days. I'm still trying to decide what to do with it.

I inherited a SAKO L46 in 222 with the magazine. Mine sounds like yours, it looks almost new on the outside but the bore has seen better days. I'm still trying to decide what to do with it.

I bought one of those. An old Riihimaki. Perfect on the outside but a shot out barrel and a severely pitted bolt face. I’m trying to decide, too.

Shoot it an see if you can make it an accurate rifle, if you can't or don't like it build a 6.5-06. Virtually the same as a 25-06 but way better bullets to choose from.

I have a 7 twist x-caliber I plan on using.
