Rear bag suggestions

I like the Protektor "Doctor" model with the silver slick-top. They will make it any way you want it. MY suggestion: get a 1" thick base and MAKE SURE the space between the ears is correct for your rifle. They will build it to your exact specs. AND they will fill it and have it in your hands in 2 weeks!

I like and have this one also...one thing I would suggest and this is just me, but if I could do it over I would have got the one with the handle.
I also did add a little lead shot to the mix. I got the heavy sand but thought I needed a little more weight. I didn't quite do a 50/50 mix though...more like 75/25.

Mine does in fact have the handle... Good observation..

My stock has a flat on the bottom that is a little over 5/8 inch by the grip and tapers to about 7/8 wide at the recoil pad. Is that common on most stocks? Would I be better off if the stock had the same dimension instead of the taper

If you really want stability you can make a rear rail out of delrin or uhmw, make it 2 inches wide and mill out the middle so it is still two rails about 1/2 wide. You can screw it fast in the middle with two wood screws. Look at Alex deep tracker stock to get the idea. Matt

I was trying to upload a picture and couldn't. Thanks 22 Dasher. I milled my stock flat and stayed behind the palm swell. Made the plate as long as the milled area and stayed just a little below the bottom of that palm swell. That way I don't gain any height and it was straight and looked good. Matt
