Rear bag sag?

Hello,
I’ve been having to “chase” the rear bag with my front rest/bipod by lowering them over the course of fire. Over the 22 shots in f-open/ftr, I find I’ll need to adjust the front rest or bipod down at least once. Anyone having this issue or know a fix? It’s an Edgewood minigator.
I have tried making a small uhmw that fits under the bag to give it some lift, this made it go from 3-4 adjustments to 1-2.
Thanks,
Ken

I've come to accept bag sag as just another part of getting old. Still works...just needs adjusted more often.

what type of rear configuration do you have

Rounded butt, half inch flat. 3/4 flat. or coffin style

‘your answer will then provide where the real answer will fall

and does the stock touch the stitching or ride up into the ears a bit

‘and how are the ears, very firm or a little firm or saggy and somewhat loose sand fill

It’s either 5/8 or 3/4 flat and parallel to the forend

Ears are a little firm, stock touches stitching

Pound your butt. ;)

When you set your gear up, place your rifle into the sand bags, push it down, the hit the top of your butt stock a few time with the heel of your hand to make the sand bag "settle in". Under recoil the sand will tend to settle a little in your rear bag and your point of aim will gradually go up. Pounding your stock into the bag will take up most of that initial settlement.

^^^^^ yep that’s how to fix it

Tap it down side rifle few times tap it down agin good to go

I like the base tight and ears firm when settled in, Stand the bag on end and use a funnel and 1/16” poker to fill to desired and place a drop of hot melt in the fill spout so it stays inside the bag.

Timely thread’ I just lived this little nightmare about three weeks ago and of course I didn’t bring an extra bag or my sand and funnel, Damn rifle refused to track and return to target, after the weekend I added quite a bit of sand in both the base also the darn front too.
Seems to track now but E Gads I know your pain....

Are we talking rifle sand bags, or our wives back sides? :)
+2 on pounding the stock. After I set the rifle in, I push down on the forearm and slide the gun back and forth a few times to settle it into the front bag.
Then hit the comb a few times. Look thru scope for cross hair location. Hit a couple more times. Rinse and repeat until cross hairs don't move (or much).
