Reaming a barrel?

So......I have a Remington 700 SPS chambered in 7mm-08. Just the standard barrel.

Can I run a .284 reamer into it? I guess my question is, is the wall thickness of the chamber enough to take the bigger diameter of the .284 reamer and still be safe when I shoot the .284 in it after re-reaming it?

Thanks for any help and knowledge you guys have.

Happy shooting.......j

Yes you can but you might also have a stepped neck unless the neck on the .284 reamer is larger than the reamer they used to cut the 7-08 chamber (not likely from what I've seen).
