Reamer pilot size?

I have a chamber for a .22 LR I need to ream. The barrel is stated the have 0.2159 and 0.2217 dimensions. The reamer I have is a soild pilot and has a dimension of 0.2165 should I have this ground down to be 0.2159 like the barrel or or is the 0.0007 difference in size OK?

Thanks Jon

I would carefully check both 1st to see exactly what you have. 7/10ths over is not going to fit in the barrel if both are those exact dimensions. You need a tenth or two clearance on a solid pilot.

I think you would be better off having the reamer ground for bushings, and get a bushing with a nice slip fit.

Any ideas on where I could get this done? Or maybe I should just cut my losses and order a new reamer from PTG I am concerned about the long wait though!

Thanks

Jon

Any time I have ordered from PTG, I was suprised at how fast the reamer was delivered, maybe 2 weeks to a month for a wildcat.

PT&G will grind it for a bushing, but I'm not sure of the time frame...
I can't believe it would take to long... call and check it out.....

+ another on removable pilots and Manson Precision. Chances of scaring the rifling just ahead of the chamber are greatly increased if a solid pilot is used. I don't think there's anybody that can alter your reamer 'over night'. Everyone is busy.
