reamer issue

I guess I'm just lucky, I've never had that happen. What it looks like to me is that not all the flutes are cutting and more of them or just scraping off shavings. But if it cut smooth past that area ..... that rules out my theory and places it back to a very hard spot in the barrel.
Just my 2 cents.

I used to get that a lot with a certain barrel brand. Extreme hard spots
