Here in California, our governor intends to give free health insurance to all the illegal aliens. There are countless Americans who really need help in many ways. When one looks at how many illegal aliens there are here (millions) and the average cost for insurance probably around $500.00 per month per person (maybe much
While there is even ONE American Veteran that is homeless or in need of medical help, not one single dime should be spent elsewhere. Ever.

I'm doing the same thing, I quit 3 years ago because of knees and hips, (new knees now) so I'm going back to swinging the club, I'll still shoot but to continue at this pace is crazy. I live on a nice golf course and can drive my golf cart to the pro shop, check in and go play vs hours in the reloading room (I really enjoy this) and then spending hours driving to a range and thousands of dollars per year to shoot and drive. Enough to give you pause.
I figure, dark is the time to do handloading.
Golf takes 3-6 hours depending on holes played. That includes travel times, and post golf imbibement. :)One round a week and a couple trips to the range a week for 1.5 hours at a time. It will all balance out quite nicely.

Golf is about an individual improving on their ability to achieve perfection, not unlike precision shooting. It's about trying to achieve perfection within one's self. One has to actually think through things sometimes to know the why. The great thing about America is the right all of us have to think what we think and do what is legal to do.
This is exactly right. Golf and precision shooting have so much in common.

You are alone, a team of one, trying to achieve improvement vs. your previous performance as a team of one. Wind reading, distances, trajectory, all work in both disciplines. Also, they let you drink and golf. So that's a plus over the shooting range

My experience golfing has helped me greatly in estimating distances in both hunting and shooting. I have not golfed in maybe 12 years? But while hunting, I still estimate distances in 25, 50, 75, 100yrds and further distances as par 3 4 or 5. At one point I was golfing 2 times a week and I was able to be accurate at distance estimation down to the +/- about 5 yards.

I will also add that walking (no carts) while golfing is just an absolute pleasure. Anyway, golf isn't for everyone and neither is rifle shooting. Just ask the shottgunners and archery guys at my club.

When one looks at how many illegal aliens there are here (millions) and the average cost for insurance probably around $500.00 per month per person (maybe much higher), one has to wonder what those knuckleheads running the show are thinking. And I'll be paying for it. But what really bothers me is we haven't seen ANYTHING yet in respect to how many illegals are here now. To get free health insurance is only another great reason to bypass our laws and enter illegally. I believe in helping people out when in need - but shouldn't it at least be proportionate to what we provide to our own citizens?
They want the illegals because they will vote democrat

Hard to believe what an old man with Alzheimer's has done to America in three years... If this can be fixed it will take a decade... We want to move away from here and have been trying for two years but because of the market and economy we are basically stuck... We keep saying , well maybe it will get better next year....

What sucks is we are making more money than we ever have like a sh$t ton more and because of this crap we're still stuck... We are lucky to have the income but instead of getting ahead we are the same as we where with the exception that now we have paid off everything but two new vehicles... One I bought in September and will be paid off in 4 months because we are throwing money at it to get it payed off...

My wife retired and she went back as a contractor and if this was three years ago she could retire again in three years basically instead of 30... Here's what I am getting at... If you're making the kind of money she is making right now , with both of use retired at 50ish , zero commute except for what we need to go get , owing nobody nothing in the world but two car payments and we can't sell and move how and the heck are the average joes in America even getting by right now...

Because I promise you until a year or so ago we're average as average households get living paycheck to paycheck with credit card debt , my truck is a 2008 I have been driving since 2011.... In 2011 we lost everything but that truck , my wife's car , a dirty laundry basket of clothes my guns a chainsaw and a small box of tool in a forest fire , so did 3000 other people here , that's what we escaped with... Everything else , poof gone 40 years of stuff gone... We didn't have enough insurance so after the mortgage company got paid off we got $7525 to rebuild EVERYTHING with.... Needless to say , we where screwed....

Now skip ahead to this mess in a time we should be killing it finally and we are actually worried like everybody else of what the future holds all because of one senile old man and what's happening in America right now... We are blessed and extremely lucky to be in the situation were in right now I'm not complaining but my wife's a contractor now and her job could end tomorrow I never dreamed American could be in the shape it's in right now much less what it will be with another four years of this guy... I went to academy the other day and bought 4 boxes of CCI SV .22lr , a box of Hornady SST for testing and a new Leupold ball hat and the out the door price was $94...

Right then I thought you know what I don't need anything else till this craps over... I will freshen up my rifle and pistol skills after shooting skeet since COVID because it's become to expensive.... I will only shoot skeet a few games a week to stay fresh and shoot something else instead... Other than that I do nothing , I even finally stopped smoking thank God , when that happened I also stopped drinking , just don't fell like it anymore... That right there makes a truck payment because beer is $5.00 at a local crap hole and smokes $8.00 a pack... The drinking wasn't a problem but the smoking was... Especially after a heart attack three years ago...

All in all seriously how in the hell are average households in America making it right now..??? You've all been to the grocery store and filled up your gas tanks lately.... What used to be $120 worth of groceries for me and my wife is now $350 everything has doubled if not tripled in the last three years and when Biden was asked about it he laughed and said Americans can afford to pay those prices.... No they can't...
I wonder the same thing. Maybe them just not knowing any better or caring as much at this time in their younger lives is what helps them make it.

LOL I understand, I live on the course so only 3 minutes to jump in cart and get to clubhouse, we are the "old" group so we are the first out in the mornings and it takes over 2.5 hours for 18 the other guys are throwing fits ;-) :), this course is where the qualifier takes place for the PGA tourney in Lexington but i can play 3 times a week and average less than $25 per round, I'm blessed!

OMG that reminds me the most delightful and torturous round of golf I have played.

Oakland Hills south course 3 weeks before the PGA Champ was hosted there. I was the last week for members to play before they locked it down the for the event. Now, this is a very posh country club where I do not belong, but got an invite. The course conditions were insane. I'd lose a ball in the rough if I missed the fairway, the rough was so stinking long. There was one hole, I took a drop where I think I should have found my ball in the rough. I dropped a ball, but was distracted and did not see it actually drop the inches in front of me. I look down, ball is gone. Could not find it even in a 2'x2' search area. That course also has those sand traps beside greens that are elevated 10-14 feet above you. I had a blast. I think I ended with a 128, and that was playing loose with the rules.

The PGA wouldn't let us use carts for that round. It's not an easy walk. I ate 5 Jr whoppers afterwards.

I'm thinking the retailers must be getting hit hard by this. My email inbox is being bombarded by sales events everywhere, 20-50% off everything including, ammo ,knives, pants, scopes, guns, you name it.... except reloading supplies.

I'm not crazy about the price increases, but I have 2 brand new rifles for next year, a Lenzi rest, and just bought a complete set of flags. I'm not going to stick it all in a corner because it will cost $12 more a weekend to shoot. Just have to eat one less time while I'm there.

I played Valhalla once! Played pretty good but there are some pretty brutal holes there! Played a Senior AM tourney a few years back in Louisville and hit into the Bermuda grass and took 2 strokes to hit it out, ball will not set on that stuff! Just drops to the bottom and you have to hack it out, gives you a small perspective of how good the pros really are!

While your waiting for prices to come down you can use that time to weigh
sort your Brass, primers and bullets along with annealing and trimming your brass
that is if you have any of these

I do have alot more time now with pricing the way it is. They are all too high!! Don't need to go to different vendor sites...ALTHOUGH, there are some that are consistently lower priced than others....rsbhunter

Some of the products we use at my Shop have gone up substantially in the past three years.

1022 steel roughed turned round bar in 7 1/2“ to 9 1/2” in 30 ft sections has gone from around $.82 a pound to over $1.40 a pound. Tooling such as large end mills, threading inserts, turning inserts etc have gone 40 percent. Stainless Steel Submerged Arc 309L and 316L around 50 percent.
Add in all of the cost of health insurance and just opening the doors in the morning.
None of this is going down, baring a complete economic collapse. .

The real teaser is, despite things seemingly headed south in everything, we just had our best year in the past seven years.

This should ease everyone's troubles. The U.N. is spending 1.5 BILLION in 2024, going to NGO 's to assist 3 million(U.N. goal) people travel, shelter, food, cross the borders as they make their way to the southern U.S. border. Biden has promised the U.N. almost 400 million.
